Web Accessibility for Designers
Learn how to apply the web content accessibility guidelines in designing. If you are aiming to please the European digital accessibility act or you are interested in making your website or application accessible but don’t know how, this course is for you.
Accessibility can be overwhelming if it is seen as a list of requirements without knowing what their purpose is. During this half day workshop we’ll be covering quite a few different topic, all of which will be focused on usability, accessibility, and inclusive thinking in design and development. You will learn what accessibility means, who is it for and what are the legal requirements. You will also get a lot of practical information on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), how to design and implement content that complies with the guidelines, and how to evaluate your own work. We will help you recognize relevant accessibility guidelines, standards and specifications and integrate these into designing accessible content and review strategies based on international requirements.
Essentially what we’ll be discussing is common accessibility issues found in design, how they affect different user groups, and ways to overcome the barriers introduced for people with disabilities.
